Project Donghu Greenway (Wuhan) selected as UN-Habitat’s pilot project for improved urban public spaces in China

International specialist Bruno Dercon from UN-Habitat’s headquarters and its Asia and Pacific regional office announced that Project Donghu Greenway (Wuhan) was offically selected as UN-Habitat’s pilot project for improved urban public spaces in China. The Expert team spoke higly of the project and will recommend it in the Habitat III held in Ecuador this October.

Donghu Greenway consists of 4 parts, with overall length of 28.7 kilometers. The part designed by BLY stretches from Eju in the west to the east gate of Moshan Scenic Area in the east, reaching a length of 10.6 kilometers.

With the philosophy of “quieting the city”, and featured by landcape of lakes, mountians and villages, the design is aimed to turn Donghu scenic area into a village theme park and the best destination for the appreciation of wetland landscape .
